Make a Difference
Abuse Awareness Month
The color for child abuse awareness is blue and the symbol for child abuse prevention is the blue pinwheel. The pinwheel is a symbol of hope, safety, health, and most importantly…happiness. It symbolizes our efforts to change the way our community thinks about child abuse prevention.
Pinwheel Ceremony
A community-wide ceremony held annually in April to show our support of ALL children in Thomas County. Shining in the sun, pinwheels represent a bright future for our children. We want all children to live in a stable, safe, and loving environment – at home, at school, and in our community.

The Giving Tree
These bags are an important part of The Giving Tree Project because many of the children we serve move from place to place, have to share clothes and toys with other children, and do not have a whole lot to call their own. The bag not only gives them something to put their belongings in when being shuffled from home to home, but it also gives them something that is personalized specifically for them. It is heartbreaking to see children being moved around while having the few things they own in a garbage bag.
Blanket Drive
One of the natural responses to physical or emotional trauma and shock is the sensation of feeling cold. Help us stock our shelves with additional comfort items for children with special needs and those who have experienced acute trauma.
